TU Womens Soccer

The women’s soccer team has gotten off to an incredible 4-1 start to the season. With Coach Lance Key at the helm of the program entering his seventh season as the Women’s Tiger Soccer coach, with an outstanding record of 88-13-10 so far in his career our girls will surely have a great season. Currently our girls are ranked 17th in the country and 3rd in the west region. With junior forward Kelly Watts leading the way with seven goals in only five games the Tigers have amassed sixteen goals so far this season. The defense is led by senior all America defender Danika Wright. Also sophomore goalkeeper Katie Garrett has been a wall so far this season only allowing six goals so far. The only loss this season for the Lady Tigers came against Hardin-Simmons in a crushing 4-0 defeat, but our girls bounced back with two straight wins on their road trip to UT-Tyler where they swept the competition. The Lady Tigers hosted their first home game against UC Santa Cruz where they blew away the competition with a 5-0 shutout. The tigers will be traveling to Hendrix for their next game, will not be in action here at Trinity until Monday October 4th at 7:00 pm when they take on the crusaders of Mary-Hardin Baylor.
